This is a collection of tracks created in the summer/autumn of 2013. They have a certain flavour - jazz but mixed with an approach to production and instrumentation that gives a sense of the naive. I got reintroduced to jazz this summer as a result of signing up for an online course by Berklee and vibraphonist Gary Burton. Each week we had a new track to play and I got very enthusiastic - eventually producing not only an improvisation on most days - of which one is included here, but also going on to produce several tracks that are influenced by the music I was hearing at the time (including eye of the cat based loosely around the Carla Bley track Ohos de Gato) and many multiple brass tracks as a result of studying different modes.. It was a most enjoyable few weeks and inspired me to even buy a new instrument as a result..
